Executive Director, South America
D’Arcy joined Benson Hill in early 2016 as Executive Director of Strategy and Business Development for South America.
D’Arcy has lived and worked in Brazil for over 10 years where he resides today. He has worked as a strategic advisor on an intermittent basis with Benson Hill since 2013, assisting with local Business Development efforts and informally serving as the General Manager of our Brazilian subsidiary.
Previously, D’Arcy has lived and/or worked in several countries (Canada, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, USA, UK) and with numerous large and small enterprises focused on sectors undergoing significant technological and structural change. This experience has included biofuels, biotechnology, financial and commodity products and sustainability and including working at start-up Brenco (Brazilian Renewable Energy Company, then following its acquisition at Odebrecht Agroindustrial), Enron, Cargill and DGZ Bank.
He earned his Masters in Education (MA Comparative Education Systems, 2003) from the Institute of Education at the University of London (now UCL), and a MSc/MBA (Management of Technology and Innovation from MIT, 1992) and his B.A. (1983) in History (Latin America) from UNC Chapel Hill.
